Morgan & Trenholm Collection

Mayor William D. Morgan (1853-1938) invited professional photographers from all over the state of South Carolina to travel to the county to capture the importance of the people and places that made it historically and culturally unique. Names like Dowling, Reckling, Rosenger, Simpkins, and Winburn can be linked to many of the photographs found in this collection. Also featured are the photographs of Alfred Glover Trenholm (1874-1952), an area business man who captured many unforgettable images on film, including scenes of beach picnics, hunting expeditions, birds in flight, and early aerial views of Georgetown.
