In a c.1970 photo, Bernard “Bernie” Baruch Taylor, son of the plantation manager, is out in North Inlet on a winter’s day. His father, Nolan, along with Art Sharon, is in the second boat and is taking the picture. The boats were joined in tandem and were gathering oysters from the oyster beds. Taylor and Belle Baruch assumed management of all Hobcaw’s oyster beds in the late 1940’s. |
