About Georgetown County Digital Library (GCDL)
The Georgetown County Digital Library provides the opportunity to explore the unique and diverse history of the people and places that shaped Georgetown County. The GCDL is a portal to the past that tells the history through rare photographs, newspapers, real estate indentures, journals, and letters. The GCDL provides free access to researchers, educators and students, and all who are interested in learning more about Georgetown County’s history and culture. The GCDL is always changing and public comments and suggestions are always welcome. The names of many of the people and places in the photographs, letters and other documents are unidentified. In an effort to tell a more complete story, the GCDL asks those viewing the documents and photographs to share their information and knowledge by e-mailing us: contact@gcdigital.org.
Statement on Copyright/Usage of GCDL Materials

The Georgetown County Digital Library (GCDL) contains materials that are held by private owners and institutions and may require special permission for use of the photographs and other documents available on this site.

Private & Educational Use
Materials on the GCDL may be quoted or reproduced for private purposes or student or instructor use in a classroom or classroom assignment without prior permission as long as the work is properly cited or credited by the user.

Commercial Use
